Since the transition into Google for Leona Group, we live within the gmail environment. Due to the ease of adding an important email that contains a task you need to complete, however you cannot get to it at that moment. What I do is either add the email to a task list or create a calendar event, both can be accessed from the "More" dropdown just above the email. By adding the email to your calendar you can schedule a time to get to that task. Or if you are like me, adding it to the task list opens a Task window at the base of your email browser, this way you can have a quick and easy way to check off the items you need to get back to when completed.
Another great reason of making sure your calendar is up to date with not only meetings, but an arranged scheduled tasks, your co workers can see when you have free time for meetings. You can also add calendar items as a task reminder but also edit the event to show you are free without having to worry that a coworker cannot schedule a meeting with you because of something mundane on your calendar shows you are busy.
Here is a short video on how to take full advantage of your calendar.
